Same as the Ray Ban Meta glasses, the new model from Oakley can answer the user’s questions and translate conversations in different languages.
It should be noted that, compared to the previous Meta Smart Glasses model by Ray-Ban, which are designed for everyday use with a sleeker model, the Oakley AI glasses will be designed for athletes, based on the Oakley HSTN style (pronounced HOW-stuhn).
So, in order to wear them without issues, the Oakley glasses are designed with an IPX4 water resistance level and offer an increased battery life up to 8 hours, while the Ray Ban offered only 4 hours of continuous use. Also, this time, the charging case can offer up to 48 hours of use to allow users to shoot in 3K video for a long time.
Regarding the design, the Meta Oakley smart glasses come in different combinations of lenses and frames, and users can also opt to have prescription lenses for an additional cost. So, the available frames come in warm grey, black, brown smoke, and clear. Each color of the frame can be paired with different lenses, in order to represent the athlete's style.
However, it should be noted that starting July 11th, only the limited edition model will be available, featuring gold accents and Gold PRIZM lenses.
You can buy the Oakley glasses after the preorders start, from the US, Canada, Ireland, the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Sweden, and many other countries. You can check the whole list directly on the Meta website.
