with a complex plan. All the concerns and demands from the U.S. government centered on the fact that Apple needs to manufacture more of its products in the U.S. territory.
Now, Apple announced that it will invest about $100 billion in order to expand its manufacturing processes in the country. In this investment, Apple has made an extended partnership with the screen manufacturer, Corning, in order to have the iPhone and Apple Watch cover glass fully manufactured in Kentucky, U.S.
As part of this Apple plan, the giant iPhone maker will collaborate with its rival, Samsung, directly at the factory in Austin, Texas. The reason behind this unexpected collaboration is that the iPhone maker is planning to launch in the near future an impressive new technology for the manufacturing process, which has never been used before.
It’s important to mention that this $100 billion Apple plan of investment is included in the recently announced $500 billion plan that is scheduled to come into effect during the next four years. This big Apple plan includes the fact that the company is committed to bringing the manufacturing processes of phones and other devices into the U.S. factories.
It seems that Apple will soon expand the company’s data center in North Carolina, specifically in Maiden. Even more so, the server factory based in Houston that was announced a couple of months ago is scheduled to begin mass production in 2026.
Apple has indeed big plans for this year and also for the next year, promising a lot of new investments and new factories in the U.S. The iPhone maker, as part of this Apple plan, will also open in Michigan a manufacturing academy, which has a clear objective of training other U.S. companies on different advanced manufacturing techniques.

In the first place, the U.S.-based iPhone maker chose to make its products and devices in other countries, such as Vietnam, China, or India, to avoid the U.S.-imposed tariffs, along with disruptions that could happen in the supply chain.
But not long ago, the recently elected U.S. President, Donald Trump, threatened the giant company with a tariff of about 25% if the processes were not brought back to the U.S. We don’t know for sure if all the Apple's efforts will be enough for the U.S. government and Donald Trump also, because many other countries and companies suffer now from the imposed tariffs.
