What is Claude AI?
Developed by the research firm Anthropic, Claude AI represents an generative AI chatbot and a family of LLMs (large language models). This artificial intelligence model, is good at natural language processing, also known as NLP, because supports multiple text, visual, and audio prompts. Claude AI can easily answer questions, generate text, summarize documents, assist and program code along with many other capabilities.
Claude AI has one free and two premium chatbots, which were released in 2024 to offer the most recent and advanced capabilities for its users. So, Anthropic has developed three AI models:
- Claude 3.5 Sonnet: the free version of Claude AI, it is popular thanks to its processing speed of users’ queries. According to the Anthropic AI company, this free version is two times faster compared to Claude 3 Opus, which represents one of the two premium versions of the chatbot. Claude 3.5 Sonnet is famous among users because it can write text and content with a natural language tone.
- Claude 3 Opus: one of the premium models, Claude 3 Opus is available for Claude Pro subscribers and it’s capable of processing documents with a focus on more complex tasks. This chatbot model is indeed a little bit slower than the free version, but its promises less mistakes when generating content.
- Claude 3 Haiku: the second paid version of the chatbot, Claude 3 Haiku represents the fastest and smaller model, and is perfect for summarizing long documents, along with traditional text generation. According to the Anthropic AI company, this advanced artificial intelligence model is able to outperform many industry competitors’ tasks.

But what is Constitutional AI?
Constitutional AI represents a group of ethics in artificial intelligence, along with different safety principles that were specially created by the Anthropic company to develop a more responsible chatbot.
The three main rules of Constitutional AI are based on choosing the least hateful and dangerous response from all. But more importantly, the Claude AI chatbot is trained to provide a response that is at the same time reliable and much closer to the truth.
The last principle in Constitutional AI is to provide an answer that provides clear and simple information.
Regarding AI principles, Claude AI, compared with other industry models, is probably the most reliable chatbot of all, being capable of providing information that is correct and accurate.
