Called Pinewood, the new Sonos streaming box is planned to be a competitor for the popular Apple TV, Roku Ultra, or Nvidia Shield. According to the same sources, Sonos Pinewood will most likely have an impressive interface to improve the user experience and high-quality software to allow users to watch their favorite shows and movies.
The company’s plan is to gather various popular content from platforms such as HBO Max, Netflix, or Disney Plus and offer them under a single software background.
So, Sonos Pinewood will be an HDMI switch featuring several HDMI ports to allow users to plug in different external devices such as gaming consoles or Blu-ray players. Also, the Pinewood streaming box will have the capability to transmit wirelessly TV audio without lag on all the Sono’s sound bars or other audio equipment.
Even more so, with the launch of the Sonos Pinewood, customers will be finally able to configure a surround sound system using just the Sonos products and other speakers. So, instead of depending primarily on just a soundbar, customers will be able to set up front, left, and right channels using the speakers, to have a more personalized experience. Also, Sonos will introduce for the first time a gigabit ethernet and Wi-Fi 7 to ensure solid connectivity for all customers.
Even though 2024, wasn’t the best year for the audio equipment company, we must admit that Sonos has bold plans to reenter the industry with impressive products that are about to come.
Stay tuned for more updates!
