New TikTok Feature Allows Music Fans to Share Songs Directly from Spotify and Apple Music

his Thursday the social media platform TikTok released a new social media update that aims to associate its social media app with the music streaming services

where users can discover and listen to their favorite songs.

The new “Share to TikTok” feature lets music fans and users share songs directly from Apple Music and also from Spotify into the social media app. They will also be able to post those songs on the For You feed, on their Stories, or just send them through direct messages with the new TikTok feature.

It’s important to know that the shared music and content includes tracks, albums, playlists, and much more, and when is shared it can link back to the music streaming app. This addition to the ByteDance-owned social media platform represents a great opportunity for all TikTok users to interact more with their followers and friends, and also discover new and great songs to add to their playlists.

For the Spotify streaming app, users will have the option to “Share to TikTok” the songs and post them on the TikTok feed or Stories. From Spotify, all users can share music and podcasts to audiobooks by just tapping the “Share” option from the app interface.

The same for Apple Music, where the social media update is very similar, and from the Apple Music Share Sheet, users will see various options like Post a Video, Post a Photo, or to share the songs directly into the Messages TikTok feature.

“Our ‘Share To TikTok’ integration enables seamless sharing of content from music streaming services to TikTok, unlocking a limitless new method of creative expression for users and creators alike, along with an ability for artists, authors, and podcasters to seamlessly connect with their audiences on TikTok.”, Lindsey Kelt Zikry, the TikTok’s Global Product Partnership Lead stated.

But TikTok is not the only social media platform that gets this music streaming app integration since Spotify has also announced a partnership with Meta to make this TikTok feature for music share also available for Instagram. It’s important to mention that Spotify has previously had other app integrations with other Meta-owned apps such as Snapchat, X(formerly Twitter), and others, but just now they decided to make a feature for Instagram too.
