But for the past weeks, many users have expressed their concerns about various accounts and whether they are real or not. On the other hand, many users started to put together various lists for verification along with indicators.
What is Bluesky? It represents the most recent social media platform where users are able to interact, reply, and also message other accounts, and became popular shortly after the X platform was temporarily banned in Brazil. So, in order to keep using alternative platforms, more than 3 million X users switched to Bluesky.
Now, users are concerned about the fact that this new social media platform doesn't have yet a user badge similar to those on the X platform (formerly Twitter). Instead of this, the Bluesky social verification is more focused on other indicators such as verified domains in user handles in order to verify the authenticity of the account.
Also, the Bluesky team is working along with many organizations to establish their verified domain handles.
According to Jay Graber, the Bluesky CEO, the company is focused now on increasing its resources to verify the accounts while allowing other organizations to provide their own methods of identification.
“They can choose to trust us — the Bluesky team’s verification — or they could do their own.”, he stated.
Even more so, the company added “We also hear your feedback: users want more ways to verify their identity beyond domain verification. We’re exploring additional options to enhance account verification, and we hope to share more shortly.”
