The previous version, Adobe Photoshop Express could be compared with traditional editing apps like Facetune, Picsart, or even Canva, but now Adobe promises that this Photoshop AI mobile app was specially designed to offer the desktop experience on mobile devices.
In the free Photoshop version creators have access to various traditional Adobe Photoshop editing tools such as Layers, Spot Healing Brush, or Blending Images. Even more so, the Adobe Photoshop free mobile app has integrations with Creative Cloud apps such as Adobe Lightroom, Express, or Fresco and even includes artificial intelligence tools from the company’s portfolio.
The Object Select, Magic Wand, Clone Stamp, or Remove Tool, which are more advanced options when editing photos, is available under an Adobe subscription plan of $7.99 per month, or $69.99 for the annual subscription plan. Users who are already subscribed to an Adobe Photoshop subscription plan will also benefit from a paid version of the Photoshop mobile app.
We don’t know for sure if Adobe will keep the Adobe Express mobile app after this new Adobe Photoshop launch because it is not a significant reason to keep both apps. In the recent period, Adobe Express downloads have been decreasing significantly, which probably pushed Adobe to release sooner a new and more advanced version of the app.
While the Adobe Photoshop mobile app is still optimized for the mobile experience, users are likely to observe some minor issues with the functionalities. But as the company stated, these will be improved with the later upgrades.
