Messenger, the company announced the launch of an independent AI app.
The announcement came Tuesday when the Meta company announced in LlamaCon that this new app is allowing users to have full access to the Meta AI directly into a dedicated app, with capabilities similar to ChatGPT and other industry rivals.
What makes it so different from other models? Well Meta AI app already has some information about users from years of data that users shared on Facebook and Instagram social media apps. So, it seems that users will not need to share additional information, because the artificial intelligence technology will already know some information about them.
Besides the Meta AI app, the company also announced a feature called “Discover feed”, which allows users to share with their friends how they are using AI in their lives. So, users can choose to share with their friends random conversations with the Meta AI in order to receive likes, comments, and other interactions.
This feature is indeed interesting because this Meta AI app combines an AI assistant with social media features directly into a single platform. Regarding the AI model performance, there are no current comparison records between this AI model and other competitors.
But probably the most innovative feature is the integration with the Ray-Ban Meta glasses, which allows users to access the AI technology directly from the glasses on their phones. So, if users start a conversation with the AI model on their Ray-Ban Meta glasses, the app will store it in the history tab in order to be accessed later from the mobile app to continue it without having to explain any other details.
Stay tuned to find out more about this new and impressive AI model from Meta!
According to the Meta company, this new Meta AI app has various differentiating factors because it can “[draw] on the information you’ve already chosen to share on Meta products,”. So, the Meta AI app will know your social media profile and also the content that you interact with.
It’s important to know that the personalized content based on your social media profile is only available currently for U.S. and Canadian users.
Even more so, the company stated that users can give the AI assistant various information and details about you, to be remembered in the next conversations. So, for example, if you tell the AI assistant that you have a food intolerance, the model will remember it before making future recommendations about different new recipes or places to eat.
