This feature comes soon after the Meta company implemented the artificial intelligence technology in the WhatsApp messaging app back in April. So, the focus was to implement a new technology to make the interaction much easier for users, without compromising the user’s privacy or the encryption rules.
You must know that this feature will be available for now only in English for the U.S. WhatsApp users. But according to the company’s statement, they are planning to expand the AI summaries for more countries and languages in a couple of months.
“Message Summaries uses Private Processing technology, which allows Meta AI to generate a response without Meta or WhatsApp ever seeing your messages or the private summaries. No one else in the chat can see that you summarized unread messages either,” Meta stated in their recent announcement.
It’s important to know that this new feature is turned off by default, but you will surely know if this WhatsApp AI feature is available to you, because the app will show a little icon specific to the Meta AI WhatsApp capability.
How can you automatically turn on these new AI features?
It’s very easy! You only need to access the Settings Menu and open the Chats option. There, you will easily find the Private Processing feature, which will allow you to select or deselect different options.
