It seems that the giant company is focused on implementing a redesigned Apps tab, a whole new experience for Play Games, along with artificial intelligence features that will surely transform the Play Store into a completely new experience.
“For over 4 billion users, Google Play is an important gateway to discovering apps, games, books, movies, TV, and timely cultural content, and our ambition is to help all users engage with the apps and content that fuel their needs and interests,” the General Manager and Google Play Games VP stated in a recent press briefing.
Let’s see what interesting updates will Google Play Store will have soon:
A new tabs app & AI search
Google will introduce Guided Search, an interesting new feature that helps users find the game or app they want to install by simply typing in their interest. Up until now, users needed to type in exactly the app's name in order to find it, but now they can simply type in a goal or interest, such as “find a new car,” and the Play Store will display the apps that match their description, in this case, a car-selling platform.
The Play Store tab will have a special space for seasonal themes, along with personalized recommendations. The company gave an example for the U.S. users who will see, around the WNBA event, a special tab dedicated to it.

A new personal home tab for users
Labeled “You” tab, this new addition will offer a centralized space for tracking the Play Store rewards, subscriptions, and various updates from different apps. Based on the artificial intelligence technology, this tab will be able to offer different recommendations that match the users’ interests, such as audiobooks, movies, and even shows.
But for gamers, this tab will be dedicated to organizing all the achievements and stats that were collected during the games. AI is present here, too, and users can change or customize their avatars using the Google GenAI avatars.
New Games Tab
The Games tab will bring stats, achievements, rewards, and community features into one place. Play Games Leagues lets users challenge friends for Play Points. A key new feature is the AI-powered Play Games Sidekick, an in-game overlay that offers real-time help through Gemini Live.
Google Designed this Gemini live to help users when they are stuck in a game. So, instead of leaving the game to look for tips, users only need to ask Gemini Live directly in the game interface for guidance. The AI technology will quickly analyze the context and will give users different options for passing a challenge.
