Now, Qualcomm has really stepped up in this game and launched two new Snapdragon chips. The first laptop with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, called X2 Elite, will be officially available next year, and according to the company’s statement, it features a unique capability especially developed for corporate buyers. Called “Guardian,” it will be available for corporate laptops and desktops for an increased security system.
According to the statement of the senior vice president of gaming and computing from Qualcomm, this new security feature will allow the tech departments to install different updates and connect to the machines securely while the device is turned off. This seems like a very useful and interesting feature, especially for big companies that need 24/7 tech support.
On the other hand, Qualcomm releases the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme, which is considered to be one of the most powerful chips ever launched, with 75% faster CPU performance than competitors' chips.
The company also claims that these two Qualcomm Snapdragon Chips can offer an extended battery life, which comes in handy for those powerful laptops used for video and photo editing. And if we talk about video and photo editing, the Qualcomm company also states that Adobe users will notice some major improvements compared with last year’s chips. So, the new Snapdragon X2 Elite and Elite Extreme chips will offer 28% faster photo editing in Photoshop and about 43% faster exports in Lightroom. For video editing, the numbers are similar.
It seems that Qualcomm is really focused on creating very powerful chips for PCs and laptops. Maybe we will see similar performances for the mobile chips too, but for now, this technology is really impressive.
Stay tuned for more updates!
