Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of Vibes on Instagram, sharing AI-generated videos that include different animals and characters generated with the help of artificial intelligence.
According to the company’s statement, when users browse through these new video feeds, they will be able to see different videos generated with AI by creators and other users. Eventually, after some time, the Meta algorithm will only display videos that match your previous interactions to become a more personalized feed.
You can create a video from scratch or remix one from your feed. Before sharing, add visuals, music, and style tweaks, then post it to Vibes, send it via DM, or share on Instagram and Facebook Stories and Reels. As you can see, the AI-generated short videos can also be shared on your social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram. But will these videos be a success on social media?
We have already seen that the artificial intelligence-generated videos are very cool, but not very popular on social media, as people are already used to seeing them. The idea is really cool, because the technology is now so advanced that we can generate from a single prompt impressive, high-quality videos.
Meta’s chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang, revealed that the early version of Vibes was developed in partnership with AI image generators Midjourney and Black Forest Labs, while Meta continues working on its own AI models.
But in a world where the AI-generated videos are now called into question, we don’t know for sure if this new Meta feed will face the popularity the company expects.
