This new Facebook feature was implemented in order to address users’ complaints about the fact that they saw everyday Reels and short videos out of their interests. Very often, they complained about the fact that the short videos posted on Facebook were either scammy, AI-generated, or simply annoying.
The AI-generated videos are a great addition for some users, so that’s why Meta recently launched “Vibes”, which is a TikTok-like app full of AI-generated videos. If you feel that the AI content on Facebook Reels is not enough for you, then you should definitely try the new Meta “Vibes” app.
So, the new Facebook algorithm is created especially for Facebook users, in order to prioritize newer content.
Reels and the Facebook main feed will now have friend bubbles, showing which posts your friends have liked, similar to the Instagram popular feature. Tapping a friend’s bubble lets you send them a private message. So you can chat directly with your friends and family via a friend bubble.
“Seeing likes from your friends has always been core to the Facebook experience, and we are continuing to build features – like bubbles – that bring us back to our roots,” Meta stated in their announcement post.
More so, Facebook Reels will include AI-powered search suggestions that help users discover more content on topics they enjoy, similar to the gray prompts shown at the bottom of TikTok videos.
