The first SUV launched by Xiaomi is going to be publicly announced on Thursday, a little bit later than everyone expected, due to the fact that Xiaomi has the perfect chance to reveal the new electric SUV at the Shanghai Auto Show event.
It seems that automobile enthusiasts are considering this Xiaomi YU7 SUV to be a direct rival to Tesla, which is a U.S.-based car manufacturer. The second largest phonemaker started to enter the automobile market last year, when the company announced its first electric car, the Xiaomi SU7 sedan. We must mention that, at that time, this announcement was considered a bold move since Xiaomi had a 15-year history in selling smartphones, smart gadgets, and household appliances.

According to some of his Weibo posts, the company has invested about $1.87 billion to develop the new Xring O1 chip, and it’s planning to invest even more in order to design and develop more chips in the next 10 years.
