Clara Shih also wrote in her LinkedIn post “200M businesses each month turn to Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp to connect with billions of consumers around the world. Meta’s Llama models have over 600M downloads to date, and Meta AI now has more than 500M monthly actives— not to mention the incredible ways Meta Reality Labs will bring these AI advancements into the physical world through AR glasses and VR headsets.”
Meta is currently not selling subscriptions to its AI model, claiming that its business model will help make its apps better for its users. Meta is looking forward to generating profits from its app rather than its AI chatbots, a practice encountered at OpenAI or Google, which sell subsection packs for its AI.
Even more so, Meta will be offering AI products made with the help of Llama for millions of businesses advertising and generating content on their social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. It is still unclear what type of services Meta is now offering. Yet, recently, Meta has been pushing more and more content to their platforms and users’s feeds which imitates the content created by real humans.
John Hegeman, Meta’s VP and Head of Monetization said in an email for TechCrunch “We believe these latest advancements in AI represent a significant opportunity for businesses to drive more efficiencies and significantly improve the experiences they offer their customers,” and that. “This new product group under Clara’s leadership will help us bring that vision to life.”
