ccording to a recent Meta announcement, Instagram Threads is planning to start soon to implementing video ads as part of a testing process. Even
though it is a relatively new app, Threads, Instagram's social media app, seeks to become more similar to its direct competitor, X (formerly Twitter), which started a couple of weeks ago to introduce advertisements for worldwide advertisers.
It should be mentioned that this Instagram ads announcement was made at the recent IAB NewFronts, where the Meta company presented a pitch to advertisers.
But in their Threads posts, the Meta company assured users that these Threads Instagram ads will be available only in a testing version, for now, in a 19:9 or 1:1 format, and users will see them between the organic content directly in the Threads social media app feed.
We don’t know yet how frequently users will see and interact with this Instagram Threads app, because the Meta company didn’t disclose additional details about them, such as pricing or frequency.
This Thread's announcement comes shortly after the social media app has recorded more than 350 million monthly users. Even more so, after improvements were made to the recommendations system, the Threads Instagram app has seen that users spend 35% more time on the Threads feed.

Along with the Threads feed ads, the Meta company also announced that it will introduce a new short-form video ads feature called Reels trending ads, which will display users some of the most viral Reels from celebrities and creators.
It seems that the most popular social media apps are now in tight competition because they release almost the same functionalities in order to keep their users as long as possible. However, users use multiple social media apps on a daily basis, so we think is nice to have similar functionalities to keep things familiar and allow them to enjoy different types of content.
TikTok social media platform also introduced last week Pulse Suite, which represents a feature that allows advertisers to promote themselves on certain topics such as cultural events, holidays, sports, and others in order to become more visible among users.
We don’t know yet how users will react to the Instagram Threads ads testing round, but as long as there are not too many ads and the focus remains on organic content, users will enjoy their content peacefully.
Stay tuned for more updates!
