However, the Gemini AI iPhone app has a new feature for iPhone users, the Gemini Live, which represents a more interactive chat mode for conversations that is very similar to the OpenAI ChatGPT voice feature. This AI Gemini Live feature has been available for a few weeks on Android, but with this Google Gemini app for iPhone users, the company plans to make it available for all devices.
It’s impressive that the new Gemini Google Live feature shows up when used on Dynamic Island and also on the lockscreen for iPhone.
Soon, the Gemini AI Live will be available everywhere, and each version of Gemini Google will be available, too. The main purpose of the Gemini app is to have its icon on the phone's home screen, making it easy to assign the Action Button or another quick-access feature on phones. So, with a single tap, users can chat instantly with the AI chatbot.
The downside for the Gemini AI app is that like the other chatbots, has its limitations on iPhone user’s phones. It can not change various settings and also can’t access other apps even if users request it. But it’s good that if someone decides to request the AI Gemini app to play some music, it will immediately put a YouTube song to listen to.
Also, users are able to ask the Gemini AI for map directions and will open the Google Maps app for further instructions.
It remains to be seen what other features Gemini AI will bring to its iPhone version of the app. Stay tuned for more Google Gemini app updates!
