healthier environment, and this new technology is creating more cost-effective solutions.
BYD is one of the oldest battery technology companies, founded in 1995. The company’s purpose is to make the world a better place with the help of clean energy that will contribute to reducing CO2 gas emissions and fossil fuels. Public transport also has a significant impact on carbon emissions. BYD is also trying to change that and is looking forward to a carbon-free public transport system.
However, with its latest updates on plug-in technology, BYD is a strong competitor to car companies that do not make the switch to electric cars. The chairman of Wang Chuanfu stated that their latest generation of hybrid technology will be able to deliver the lowest fuel consumption reaching 2.9 liters per 100 km (62.1 miles). This is all possible due to the depleted batteries launched at the Shaanxi event.
The new BYD technology update made it possible to drive a range of 2100 km with a tank full and with the battery fully charged. This seems to be every driver’s dream regarding fuel consumption. Even more so, BYD has also launched its sedan version of their cars, named Qin L and Seal 06 models. Both vehicles are equipped with new technology updates at a price point starting at $13.775. BYD stated that their costs could be reduced by saving up to $1300 on annual fuel consumption.
BYD’s previous generation of plug-in car technology consumed 3.8l per 100km on gasoline engines, which appeared on Qin Plus DM-i sedan and Song Plus DM-i SUV. However, since then, the company has advanced a lot and exceeded international expansion. It is also worth mentioning that the plug-in hybrid prices dropped by 10%-22% in the first quarter, outselling gasoline models from the mass market production.
On a bigger scale, BYD has encountered an international expansion, still computing with big companies such as Toyota, Volkswagen, General Motors, and Stellantis.
