Uber has announced their new feature, “Uber Shuttle” at their Go/Get event. The Go/Get event organized by Uber represents finding more sustainable and Planet-Friendly solutions for a smaller carbon footprint, hence Uber’s new idea.
Uber Shuttle feature will include airport and concert shuttle events and even scheduled carpool trips in the name of a healthier planet. The new feature will soon be available soon to selected cities and will give customers the ability to book seats on their shuttle buses when they might be traveling to a concert or to the airport. Even more so, the price of an Uber Shuttle ticket will be “a fraction” of the price of a solo Uber trip.
At the Go/Get event held in New York City, Uber exposed its idea and talked about the commuters who didn’t have many options available. The shuttle buses will be driven by already existing local feel providers who work with professional drivers to drive the vans and buses that can range from 14 seats to 55.
And, as for the first trips, Uber will officially become a partner with Live Nation and their parent company Ticketmaster. But this is not all! Uber will also collaborate with Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium for their Dolphins games and the Grand Prix races as well as the Formula One. With those collaborations, Uber will have the ability to reach “amphitheaters across the country”.
But, to cover an even greater number of potential users, Uber will also offer shuttle services to Airports, the cities following to be announced in the near future.
Uber Shuttle will have a different approach compared to the one that Uber has now. Uber Shuttle will offer the option of booking your trip up to 7 days in advance and you will also have the possibility to book up to 5 seats. And the best part? The prices will not differ based on the traffic flow or major events that are happening during your ride.
But Uber Shuttle was one of many topics discussed in the Go/Get event. Users will also have the possibility to schedule rides on with their UberX Share Carpool service anywhere with only 10 minutes to 30 days in advance. This option offers a 25% discount that "lets you schedule a shared ride in advance to save an average of 25% compared to UberX", Uber states.
