It seems that TikTok is expecting a significant deal, and schedules to sell the social media app to a group of investors, as The Information reported yesterday.
Not long ago, the recently elected U.S. President declared the fact that he would soon start a conversation with the Chinese government, in order to confirm a potential TikTok deal.
It seems that the U.S. President is pretty confident that he will confirm a valuable deal for this popular social media platform.
What new version will soon be launched for TikTok?
Well, this social media app has a complex plan to create and launch a new U.S. version of the app in all the U.S. app stores. The new version launch is scheduled to take effect on September 5, which represents plenty of time for the creation and refining process that indeed takes a while.
This launch date is able to follow the recent deadline that has been extended by Donald Trump until September 17. By this date, the parent company, ByteDance, needs to create a version for all U.S. users.
We don’t know for sure how this new version of this platform will work, or if users will have to download a new independent app that can be a valuable alternative to TikTok. According to the same sources, it seems that this new version of the social media platform will be probably a new individual app, but it will maintain the same features, functionalities, and even the user’s accounts.
It should be mentioned that even if the new version of the app will be launched on September 5, as the sources state, the old version of TikTok will remain available until March next year, in order to accommodate all users and support them in the transition process. But this deadline is not really strict, so can are some chances during this process.

As some of you might know already, Donald Trump has extended this TikTok ban deadline three times now, after the ByteDance parent company didn’t agree to sell the social media app to a U.S company.
The initial reason for this TikTok ban started during Joe Biden’s Presidency, when, due to various security and privacy concerns, has issued an order to force ByteDance to sell this social media app or face a TikTok ban. Up until now, TikTok has been banned for a very short time, during the transition process to a new president.
Now, TikTok has a new deadline of September 17 to create a new version of the social media app or sell it to a U.S. company.
