According to some sources familiar with the matter, the Xiaomi company had available only a limited number of cars that could be delivered immediately. So, the rest of the excited customers needed to wait a couple of weeks before receiving their new and powerful electric vehicle.
Fast forward to Tuesday last week, the Xiaomi YU7 SUV electric car model had already received so much more attention and many more orders that Xiaomi had to announce to its customers that they needed to wait between 40 and 60 weeks to get their EVs.
Because the delay time is so long, more than 400 have started to file complaints directly on the Sina Black Cat platform dedicated to customer complaints. These customers have complained about the fact that the company didn’t announce to its customers that the waiting time is so delayed. In their complaint, a good part of the customers demanded a full refund for their purchase.
It should be mentioned that all the Xiaomi YU7 buyers needed to pay a deposit that was non-refundable deposit of about $696.97. Also, the delayed waiting time was available for customers only after they completed the purchase, so customers didn’t have the chance to know all these details before paying the Xiaomi YU7 deposit.
The full price for the Xiaomi YU7 electric vehicle is now up to $35,360, which represents about 4% less compared to the Tesla Model Y price. It seems that an additional concern has been raised by customers regarding the final price of the electric vehicle. Because the tax exemption for all-electric vehicles is going to expire at the end of 2025, various customers are really wondering if the final price will be affected by this.
