According to different Reddit posts, many e-reader Kindle lovers have raised concerns about the accuracy of this new Kindle feature and how it can generate in a relatively short amount of time, a recap that is able to include all the important details from a series. In their statement to TechCrunch, Amazon reassures Kindle ereader users that this technology offers the most accurate and detailed information according to the book’s content.
“We use technology, including GenAI and Amazon moderators, to create short recaps of books that accurately reflect book content,” Ale Iraheta, Amazon’s spokesperson, confirmed in the company’s statement.
It should be mentioned that these Amazon Recaps will surely include spoilers because the generated content will recap different details about the actions or characters. Available only for the U.S. Amazon Kindle users now for “thousands of bestselling English language Kindle books in series you have purchased or borrowed,”. But the company plans to extend the Recaps' availability soon to other countries.
How can you determine if your beloved series of books has the Recap's new Kindle feature? For every book in your library, you must see a “View Recaps” button that will generate, using advanced artificial intelligence, a summary of the book series. It should be mentioned that Amazon's new Kindle feature can also be accessed through the Kindle ereader menu, where the books are grouped.
“By adding a new level of convenience to series reading, the Recaps feature enables readers to dive deeper into complex worlds and characters without losing the joy of discovery, all while ensuring an uninterrupted reading experience across every genre,”, Amazon stated in their blog post.
Although the company first introduced the Amazon Recap new Kindle feature only for the Kindle Colorsoft and for the 12th Paperwhite Signature Edition version, the summary option will soon be available for all Kindle devices based on the 5.18.1 new software update in the next weeks. So, all Kindle users will soon be able to install the software update or in order to avoid the wait, download the latest version directly from the Amazon website and install it manually on their Kindle e-reader device.
